This Privacy Policy describes how SHO DIY INC., an Ohio corporation operating the VUVO platform ("VUVO", "we", "us"), collects, uses and shares personal information when you use our mobile applications, websites, and related services (the "Services"). It applies to customers who ship vehicles and to carrier partners who transport them.
1. Information We Collect
You provide it to us:
- Account and profile: name, phone number, email address, profile photo (optional).
- Order details: pickup and delivery addresses, contact persons for pickup and delivery, preferred dates, access notes and comments.
- Vehicle information: year, make, model, type, color, VIN, running condition, odometer reading.
- Inspection records: photographs of the vehicle at pickup and delivery, noted damage, and electronic signatures collected for the Bill of Lading.
- Communications: messages you send through in-app chat and to our support.
- For carrier partners: driver's license information, DOT/MC authority, insurance certificates, vehicle and equipment information, payout account details.
Collected automatically when you use the Services:
- Location: for carrier partners, GPS location of the transporting vehicle during an active Order — this powers live tracking for the customer. For customers, approximate location only if you grant permission (e.g., to suggest a pickup address). We do not track customers' location in the background.
- Transaction information: order history, amounts, payment status. Card payments are processed by Stripe; we receive confirmation and the last four digits, not your full card number.
- Device and usage data: device model, operating system, app version, IP address, identifiers, crash logs, and how you interact with the app's features.
2. How We Use Information
- To provide the Services: create and manage Orders, match them with verified Carriers, calculate quotes, process payments, generate Bills of Lading, and enable chat and tracking.
- Safety and verification: verifying Carrier authority and insurance, verifying your identity at login (SMS codes), preventing fraud and platform circumvention.
- Support: responding to questions, investigating issues, resolving disputes and damage claims.
- Improvement: analytics, troubleshooting, testing and development of new features.
- Legal: complying with law, responding to lawful requests, enforcing our Terms, and establishing or defending legal claims.
- Communications: service messages (order status, driver assignment, delivery confirmation) and, with your consent where required, marketing messages you can opt out of at any time.
3. How We Share Information
- Between the parties to an Order: the assigned Carrier sees the customer's name, contact phone, addresses, access notes, vehicle details and inspection records; the customer sees the driver's name, photo, rating, equipment and live location during transport.
- Service providers: payment processing (Stripe), cloud hosting and storage, SMS delivery, mapping, analytics and crash reporting — each only to the extent needed to perform their function.
- Insurance and claims: in the event of a damage claim, relevant Order and inspection records are shared with the Carrier's insurer and other parties involved in resolving the claim.
- Legal: with law enforcement, regulators or courts where required by law, or to protect the rights, property or safety of VUVO, our users or the public.
- Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing or sale of assets, subject to this Policy's commitments.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share your contact details with third-party lead sellers or marketing brokers.
4. Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as needed to provide the Services and for legitimate business or legal purposes. Records of completed Orders, payment records and Bills of Lading (including inspection photos and signatures) are retained for extended periods where required for legal, tax, accounting, insurance or dispute-resolution purposes. When information is no longer needed, we delete or anonymize it.
5. Your Rights and Choices
- Access and correction: you can review and update your profile information in the app.
- Deletion: you can delete your account in the app (Profile → Legal & Account → Delete Account) or by emailing info@vuvo.app — see our Account Deletion policy for details and timelines.
- Marketing opt-out: unsubscribe links in emails, STOP for SMS, or notification settings in the app. Service messages about active Orders will still be sent.
- Location and camera permissions can be managed in your device settings; some features will not function without them.
- Depending on your state of residence, you may have additional rights under applicable privacy laws (such as the right to know, delete, or opt out of certain processing). To exercise them, contact info@vuvo.app; we will verify your request and respond within the time required by law.
6. Security
We take reasonable organizational and technical measures to protect personal information, including encryption in transit, access controls, and limiting access to personnel who need it. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Children
The Services are not directed to individuals under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a minor has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date, and where appropriate, notified through the app. Your continued use of the Services after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
